Become an Umpire!

As the new season approaches there is an opportunity for all to become involved in umpiring, whether you are a current player, a coach, a parent, or a brother/sister of a player you can become involved in our great game.

Umpiring is a great way to be part of AFL, not only will you learn and understand the rules (properly), you will get fit, make new friends, develop confidence and leadership skills as you manage games each week, have lots of fun and get paid to do it from the best seat in the house.

Umpiring is open to all applicants who will turn 13 during this current year and over (there is no age restrictions, parents are welcome!)  Female umpire numbers are growing, just look towards Chelsea Roffey in the AFL (first female goal umpire to officiate in a grand final), all girls are welcome.

You can play and also umpire on the same day; we will work around your game to make sure you can still umpire.

For more information, contact St Ives Umpire Coordinator and North Shore umpire coach and manager Joshua Graeve on 0422 266 956 or email him at
