President's Report

The 2008 season will be one of the best in the history of our club:
- We have around 330 registered players which is another club record.
- We have over 80 Auskickers which is just fantastic and great for the future of the club.
- We have 14 teams playing in the u9-u16 competitions which are the most of any club in the Sydney competition.
- We have multiple teams in five grades with 2 U9's, 3 U10's, 2 U11's, 2 U12's and 2 U14's.
On the field the St Ives Junior footy club has had a great start to the season with most or all of our teams being competitive and by all accounts our players, coaches, officials and spectators have been enjoying the football. We look forward to more enjoyment for the rest of the season and to our teams continuing to show good sportsmanship on and off the field.
It is our club philosophy that all junior grades are about equal participation, having fun and learning AFL skills. We always try and make sure our junior teams are of equal ability and we will make changes if we find one of our teams to be more dominant than another.
Please remember that stivesafl.com will again be your information home for all the news on our Club and your team in 2008. The website has been updated to a more user friendly format.Visit it each week to see your team's Match Reports, details of upcoming games and much more. Contact details of coaches and managers are all listed in the teams section.
Please read the Match Reports on the website page to see how our teams and players have performed so far this year. Click on fixtures and ladders to see results of games, the ladder and upcoming fixtures.
Also, please keep your eye on the stivesafl.com Social News page where details will soon be posted for the very exciting social functions we have planned for this year. Without saying too much, make sure you keep the evening of August 2nd free for what promises to be a great nights entertainment. It is also your chance to the support club as it will be our only major event of the year.
Additionally, Saint's Line on 8250 7088 will be updated by 7.00pm each Saturday for those last minute changes to game times or venues we are advised of.
Please play your part in helping the club, whether it is in the canteen, cooking the BBQ, running the boundary or goal umpiring. We have a group of dedicated board members, coaches and managers who put in an enormous effort so that our children can enjoy their footy. It is important that all parents do their bit to help.
Many thanks go to our sponsors who support the club financially. Century 21 at Gordon is once more our major sponsor and we are very appreciative of the support from Craig Marshall. Craig's Butchery at West Pymble, O'Loughlin's Pharmacy at St Ives, Valvoline and Sportspower are also very valuable sponsors of the club. I would encourage you to do business with our sponsors whenever possible. Make sure you tell them you are from St Ives AFL.
