Club History

St Ives junior teams first took to the field in 1969 in the North Shore - Warringah Australian Football Association playing out of Acron Oval St Ives, where the Club is still based today. Fielding teams in the Under 11, Under 14 and Under 17 competition, St Ives competed against Forrestville (now Forest), Manly - Seaforth and Warringah. St Ives unsuccessfully competed in all three Grand Finals. Pittwater and Chatswood - Lane Cove joined the competition in 1971.

In 1973 St Ives formed and fielded a Seniors team which played in the Third Division of the Sydney Australian Football Association. In 1977 the Club was promoted to Second Division. The First grade team in Second Division played in seven consecutive Grand Finals from 1979, winning four Premierships. The Second grade team won three consecutive Premierships during the same period. The Club then made an application for promotion to First Division, but after three unsuccessful attempts, the Senior team disbanded at the end of the 1988 season. The Club was incorporated the same year.
